Algorithms Engineer

Israel (Hybrid - Haifa or Tel Aviv)

Description

BreezoMeter is looking for an Algorithms Engineer to work on our cutting edge Air Quality models and algorithms, that improve the health of millions of people around the world every day. In this position you’ll be working with exceptional people in a multidisciplinary R&D team to create algorithmic solutions to some of the most challenging and influential problems in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new Air Quality models and algorithms
  • Examine the performance and accuracy of existing models and algorithms, and be part of the efforts for their constant improvement
  • Locate, examine, validate and integrate new sources of data
  • Work with various stakeholders in the company to deliver the best value to our customers

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry and/or academic experience in developing scientific, statistical or physical algorithms and models
  • Bachelor’s degree (M.Sc. or higher preferred) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Atmospheric Sciences, Aeronautical Engineering or similar disciplines
  • Very strong analytical skills, ability to analyze and tackle complex algorithmic and modeling problems
  • Scientific background and/or practical experience in the air pollution sciences
  • Experience in working with Python and strong overall technical skills
  • Experience with data analysis techniques, using standard tools from the Data Science domain (e.g. SQL, Pandas)
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to clearly present complex scientific and algorithmic concepts
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning models and techniques - big advantage
  • Familiarity with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and geographical data - big advantage
